Khan, Khan Bahadur Abdur Rahman1 (1878-1939) educationist. He was born on 22 Kartik 1285 BS (1878 AD) at his maternal uncle's house at village Dumur in Sirajganj district. His father was Ebarat Ali Khan and mother Rahimunessa. The paternal home of Abdur Rahman Khan was at village Mugbelai in Sirajganj district.

Abdur Rahman Khan passed Entrance Examination from Natore Maharaja Jagadindranath High School in 1897 and achieved the Haji Muhammad Mohsin scholarship. He passed FA Examination in 1899 and obtained his graduation in 1902 from Rajshahi College. Though Abdur Rahman Khan attained famous 'Gilchrest' scholarship, his educational career stopped at the death of his grandfather.

Abdur Rahman Khan joined Rajshahi Collegiate School as an assistant teacher in 1902. In 1907 he joined as Deputy Inspector in the department of Provincial Education and was posted in Bakerganj. In 1932 he was promoted to the post of District Inspector of Schools, and later as Divisional Inspector of Schools. Khan Bahadur Khan, the ruler of Rohilkhand, who fought against the British to liberate the motherland, was born in 1781. Declining a very high official post offered by the East India Company, Khan Bahadur Khan revolted against the British at the age of  70.

He declared Independence at Bareilly, the capital of  Rohilkhand on 31 May 1857. He created history by addressing the people of  Rohilkhand as ‘people of India’ and gave a clarion call to them:  ‘the auspicious day of our freedom has dawned. The English may resort to deceit. They would try their hardest to incite Hindus against Mussalmans and vice-versa. Mussalmans, if you revere the Holy Quran, and Hindus, if you venerate the cow-mother, forget your petty differences and join hands in this holy war. Fight under one flag and with the free flow of your blood wash away the blemishes of the domination of the English over Hindustan’.

Under the leadership of Khan Bahadur Khan, Shobharam had become the Prime Minister, who was known for his honesty, and Bakht Khan had become the Commander-in-Chief.

Ustad Bahadur Khan, a Bengali, was born on January 19, 1931 in Shibpur, Comilla, Bangladesh, (then British India). He was the son of famous Indian classical musician Ustad Ayet Ali Khan, nephew of the Sarode legend Ustad Alauddin Khan, cousin of Sarode player Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Surbahar player Shrimati Annapurna Devi, and former cousin-in-law of Sitar legend Pandit Ravi Shankar. Ustad Bahadur Khan learnt playing Sarode initially from his father Ustad Ayet Ali Khan in Bangladesh, and then from his uncle Ustad Alauddin Khan in Maihar, before he finally settled in Calcutta. He also practiced vocal music and earned many gold medals for his performances. He was later guided in Sarode by his senior cousins Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Shrimati Annapurna Devi for a long time.
