Badurina formulates a game of which a working title could be ‘The artist gives a functional and welcome ready-made to his dear gallery’. By offering an espresso coffee maker as a gift to the gallery, the artist willingly eliminates the process of creative production beyond the model of the goods-exchange economy but also inverts the usual positions in which the artist expects something from a gallery – an exhibition fee, promotion, documentation etc. Instead, the artist here calls for reciprocity and gift economy, appropriating the principle of giving and returning the gift on which the society was based prior to the institution of \’money\’ and \’contract\’.
