Yamina Peerzada is a Pakistani actress and puppeteer. She played a leading role in Haseena Moin's Anjaane Nagar (2013) and won Lux Style Award for Best TV Actress - Terrestrial for her performance in Roshni Andhera Roshni (2013). Her performance in Babar Javed's Roag (2011) earned her a nomination of Pakistan Media Award for Best Supporting Actress as well.

Early life

Peerzada was born into the family of Rafi Peer, and daughter of Sadaan Peerzada. She is the niece of actor Usman Peerzada.[1]

In 2017, she married to musician Jaffer Zaidi.[2]

Career

Peerzada made her acting debut in 2009 with a side role in Usman Peerzada's directorial Rangeel Pur which aired on PTV Home.[3] In 2013, she played the protagonist role in Haseena Moin's Anjaane Nagar.[4] She received Lux Style Award for Best TV Actress - Terrestrial for her performance in Roshni Andhera Roshni.[5] In 2017, she played a role in Geo TV's drama Khan.[6

“Growing up amongst artists she was introduced and drawn to the performing arts from a very young age. She performed her first stage play at the 2nd World Performing Arts Festival 1994. She has performed as a puppeteer with the Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop in Pakistan, India, Turkey, Italy, Scotland, France, Norway, Denmark and United Kingdom.

She was the first Pakistani actress to perform a One-Woman Show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August, 2008. She performed 'Dance Without Movement' (One-Woman Show) at the Invasian Festival-Edinburgh Fringe Festival, for 21 Nights, directed by Jim Johnson-Peshkar Productions.

She has two music videos to her credit namely 'Chal Merey Saath' by Rubberband, directed by Ahmed Ali Butt and Bilal Lashari (2008 ) and 'Moray Sayyan' by Kaavish, directed by Sohail Javed (2010).

She made her acting debut on television in 'Rangeel Pur' written and directed by Usmaan Peerzada, on PTV Home in Nov 2010. Her second serial was A & B's "Roag" directed by Babar Javed and Furqan Khan and written by Faiza Ifthikar, on ARY Digital in April 2011.

Samina Peerzada (née Butt, Punjabi, Urdu: ثمینہ پیرزادہ) is a Pakistani film and television actress, producer and director.[2][3] She was a popular model in 1970s.[4] She is one of the most popular actress of her time and was one of the most successful actress of 1980s and 1990s.[4]

Early life

Samina was born into an educated [Ansari] family in Lahore, but after separation of her parents she was raised in Karachi, SindhPakistan. After graduating in commerce, she chose to pursue a career in acting. After many successful years of acting in television dramas and minor roles in television advertisements, Samina was cast in starring roles in several films.[5][6]

Career

Samina started her career as a model in 1974 and then she acted in several films including Nazdikiyan, Mukhra, Bazar-e-Husn, Shaadi Mere Shohar Ki and Bulandi.[7][8][9]

She has traveled widely and has also performed in Oslo at The Internat
